The National Standards for Theatre Education recommend that students experience the world of theatre as actors, playwrights, directors, designers, and production technicians, researchers, and audience members. At Carolina Forest High School theatre arts courses are standards driven and students are given a wealth of real world theatre opportunities, including a fully staged Broadway Musical Production each year to showcase the students. Course selections include beginning and advanced level classes in theatre arts for students more interested in the performance end of theatre, and theatre workshop courses from beginning levels to advanced levels for students who are more interested in the technical theatre end of the industry. Students also have the opportunity to earn membership in the International Thespian Society.
