Carolina Forest High School
NJROTC

HONOR                         COURAGE                     COMMITMENT

Navy Junior ROTC teaches these core values and much more. We are an elective course that can be taken for the required PE credit. Daily curriculum contains academics in citizenship, patriotism, leadership, teamwork, Naval History, and Naval Operations. The curriculum also includes uniform wear, military drill and physical training (PT). We take field trips to places like Patriots Pointe, Fort Sumter and the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. A student can take NJROTC all four years of high school and progress up the “chain of command” to become commanding officer of the unit.

Extracurricular activities included in our program are:

Drill Team
Rifle Team
Academic Team (JROTC)
Orienteering Team
Color Guard
These teams meet and practice during non-school hours and compete in competitions against other JROTC units.

Other extracurricular activities:
Parades
Community service – road clean up, Myrtle Beach Marathon, March of Dimes, Multiple Sclerosis patient help, Toys for Tots
School service (escorts for pageants, homecoming, football parking, etc.)
