English National Honor Society

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Carolina Forest High School English Honor Society is to honor academic excellence in the field of English language and literature and to promote service to the community in the field of literacy.

  • Academic Requirements:  Students must have a cumulative grade average of no less than 90 (88 for honors or AP classes) in completed English courses.
  • Participation in English organizations:  Students must have participated in one of the following co-curricular organizations:
    • Library Media Club
    • Published Panthers
    • Literary Magazine
    • Newspaper staff
    • Yearbook staff
    • Mock Trial team
  • Students may take an English elective class in lieu of this requirement, such as Creative Writing, Vocabulary, Contemporary Literature, or Broadcast Journalism and maintain a B average.  Participation in a school-sponsored public speaking event may also satisfy this requirement.
