Program History

Carolina Forest Softball Team began in 1998 with a Junior Varsity Squad. The first Varsity season was in the Spring of 1999. Since then, the program has posted 136-82 record and qualified for 8 state playoffs and won District IV Championship is 2002 and District VIII Championship in 2004.

In 2008, after ten seasons as the head coach of the CF Panther Softball program, Coach Gaye Driggers handed over the reigns to Sarah Permenter Ray. Coach Ray coached the JV team for two years and is a graduate of Carolina Forest. Coach Ray was a standout pitcher on the Lander University softball team where she played for four years. Coach Ray still holds several career records in pitching and hitting at Carolina Forest. Her work ethic and knowledge of the game will continue the winning tradition at Carolina Forest.

The 2008 team finished 2nd in Region V AAA advancing to the state playoffs and will begin a new tradition of competition in the 2008-09 season by particpating in the AAAA classification.
