2009 Season Review
The 2009 season brought new challenges to the soccer program. This was the first year to play in the VI AAAA Region. During this season we won the Michael Nash Tournament held at North Myrtle Beach High School for the first time. We also won our first Region Championship with a record of 8-2 in the region. Our season ended in the first round of the playoffs against Aiken ending our season with a record of 12-8. The team scored a total of 67 goals averaging 3 goals per game and allowed 37 goals averaging 1.5 goals per game. The leading goal scorer and leader in assists was Noah Lascell with 33 goals and 12 assists. The second leading goal scorer was Tariku Ashenafi “TK” with 20 goals. Dylan McCarthy had a total of 160 saves at keeper and Angel Avila was our leading defender. Two Seniors Noah and “TK” made the North/South team. Noah now plays for Coker College. Six members of the team have moved on from High School: Angel Avila, Noah Lascell, Vini Cordeiro, Tariku Ashenafi, Isaac Gonzalez, and Dylan McCarthy. We wish them the best of luck as they embark on new adventures. This was my first year with this program, and I enjoyed watching this team come together and take on the challenges presented to them. I am also extremely proud of this team with the two new records. My coaching staff and I wish the best of luck to everyone one the team and look forward to the 2010 season.

2010 Season Outlook

For the 2010 season we have some of the same goals as last year. I look to win the Michael Nash and bring home another Region Championship. I would also like to make it to the second round of the playoffs in May. I look to eight returning players as well as new team members to step up and fill the big shoes. We will have a young team giving us new challenges, but all will be expected to come with the determination and heart to accept the challenges.
