Varsity Head Coach: Jack Jolly is one of the original staff members of Carolina Forest High School. He is entering his 11th season as the Head Varsity Baseball Coach with a record of 146-126 at Carolina Forest and an overall record of 307-221 in 20 years of coaching baseball. Coach Jolly's teams have made the playoffs 13 out of the 20 years he has coached and 7 out of 9 years years while at Carolina Forest. Jack graduated from Myrtle Beach High School in 1982 and Coastal Carolina University with honors in 1987, while playing baseball as a pitcher. Coach Jolly began his teaching and coaching career at Green Sea-Floyds and went to Cheraw High School after three years where he taught and coached for seven years. While at Cheraw, Coach Jollys' 1997 squad played for the State Championship. Jack has been an assistant and head coach for the North/South All Star baseball game. Coach Jolly is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and serves on the board of directors of the SCBCA as the North/South All-Star Game Committee chairperson. Jack is happily married to Pam Jolly and they have five children, Matthew (16); Rebecca (15), Robert (13), Lucas (10), and Grace (7). Coach Jolly teaches physical education and weight training at CFHS.
Varsity Assistant Coach: Doug Soles earned his B.S. degree in 1992 from UNC-Pembroke where he received a baseball scholarship. Coach Soles started his teaching and coaching career in 1993 at West Columbus high School in North Carolina. Coach Soles began his teaching and coaching in South Carolina in 1996 at Green Sea-Floyds High School. In 1996 he led Green Sea-Floyds baseball team to a Region VIII championship and Lower State championship finishing as State Runner-ups with a record of 21-8. Coach Soles was named Region VIII Coach of the Year and The Sun News Toast of the Coast Coach of the Year in 1996. Coach Soles came to Carolina Forest in 2003 as an assistant coach in baseball, where he is the pitching coach. Doug is married to the former Michelle Grainger of Socastee and they have two children- Bayli (5) and Hayden (1)
Varsity Assistant Coach: Tom Griffin is from Owings, Maryland. He played baseball for 4 years in high school. Tom previously coached the Junior Calvert Legion Team in Maryland before moving to South Carolina and attending Coastal Carolina University. He graduated from Coastal in 2003 after completing his internship at Carolina Forest High School and coaching the freshman baseball team. In 2004, Tom assisted the JV baseball team and became the Head JV Coach in 2005. He has also coached Conway American Legion the past 3 summers. Tom teaches Physical Education at Carolina Forest Elementary. Tom is married to the former Suzie King of Rock Hill SC and they have one daughter, Ally- born Feb. 6th 2009.
JV Coach: Chad Schildt is a native of Taneytown, Maryland. He Graduated from Francis Scott Key High School in 2002 with Honors. While at FSK, he was a 3-time All-County and Conference player, as well as a 2 time All Region and All-State in baseball. In basketball, Coach Schildt was 2-time All County and an All Conference selection. Coach Schildt played Division 1 baseball at Mount Saint Mary's University where he graduated from in 2006 with a BA in History with a minor in Education.. Chad was one of eight freshman brought in to revitalize the Mount baseball program. During his 4 years at The Mount, the Mountaineers broke numerous school records for wins and won a Conference Title. His playing career at the Mount unfortunately, was plagued with two damaging injuries in back-to-back years. Chad took this time to learn the how to build a successful program from his head coach Scott Thompson. Coach Schildt began his coaching career at his old high school, Francis Scott Key. He coached both Varsity Baseball and JV basketball. Coach Schildt inherited a 2-win baseball team and in his first year coached them to a .500 record before losing in the 2nd round of the State Playoffs. The following year Coach Schildt’s last, the Eagles went 14-7 won their Conference and lost in the Regional Final to the eventual State Champs. Coach Schildt is a substitute teacher for Horry County Public Schools and a Youth Sports Coordinator for Horry County Parks and Rec. This will be Coach Schildt’s 2nd year with the Carolina Forest baseball program, and his 1st season as the skipper of the JV team.
